Settlement Value

Settlement is more likely when you are represented by a high-quality personal injury attorney. I have extensive experience in researching, comparing and providing settlement value ranges that are consistent with current jury verdicts. We research and find similar cases like yours to help establish the value of your case. This provides you with the necessary information for you to be informed and feel confident about your decision to settle or not settle your case. I will then conduct a risk/benefit analysis with you to complete the review process so that you can be empowered to make a fully informed decision about your case.

Monitoring Medical Treatment

Our firm will monitor your medical treatment and consult with you to confirm that you are receiving the appropriate treatment to promote maximum medical improvement from your injuries. Personal injury clients are required to mitigate their damages by getting medical attention that will help minimize their damages. Out firm will help you determine if future surgery and medical treatment is required for us to fully evaluate all of your past and future medical expenses. It is the injury victimís burden to prove their past and future medical damages. Failure to discover, develop and prove these damages will result in a reduction in the value of your personal injury case. Our burden of proof at trial is to produce competent medical testimony and diagnostic studies to prove that the medical treatment is reasonable, necessary and related to the injuries caused by the accident. Mr. Mazzela knows how to introduce this evidence at trial in a compelling and meaningful manner. The use of highly respected medical experts, family members that have witnessed devastating impact of the injuries and the client's testimony is used to demonstrate the dramatic impact on the client's life.

Retaining Highly Respected Expert Witnesses.

Retaining the right experts comes with many years of experience in identifying the legal and medical issues involved in personal injury trial work. This is essential to proving your case at trial. Additionally, knowing the reputable, knowledgeable and effective expert witnesses involves years of retaining and opposing experts in a wide variety of areas of expertise. There are accident reconstructionist, biomechanical engineers, medical experts, human factors experts, vocational rehabilitation experts, economist and a myriad of other areas of expertise. Mr. Mazzela has spent the past twenty years discovering and working with the best expert witnesses in the various types of personal injury cases within our firms practice areas. Your case value relies on the expert witnesses associated with your case. Choosing the right experts to represent your best interest is critical to the success in maximizing the value and credibility of your personal injury case.

State-of-the-Art Courtroom Technology and Simulations

Mr. Mazzela has presented video simulations of the events of the accident in complex cases involving a collapsing 550 gallon diesel fuel tank as well as motor vehicle accident video simulations reconstructing the injury producing event. Even more compelling, animations depicting the surgical procedures being performed is a very compelling method at trial to demonstrate the significance of the injury, the resulting surgery and the substantial impact on the client’s life. Power Point presentations and day-in-the-life videos done professionally also increase the Juries appreciation for the significant impact the injuries have inflicted on the injured client. Beyond that, enlarging liability photos and medical diagrams onto 3’ x 2’ enlarged poster boards for use at trial. This allows the jury to have the exhibits during deliberation. The video simulations and power point presentations end when the closing argument end and cannot be taken back into the jury deliberation room. Therefore, our firm uses the enlarged poster boards for the most critical evidence so the jury has access during jury deliberations and is then able to base their decision on hard evidence rather than speculate on memory alone.

Compassion for his clients

Mr. Mazzela understands that persons injured in automobile collision are in pain, emotionally upset and their lives have been turned upside down. The client is without a car, they need to get to doctorís appointments necessitated by the accident and they are missing work. Sometimes the pain subsides in a few months. Other times, the pain becomes chronic and a lifetime of pain management, surgeries and other invasive life altering matters must be addressed by a personal injury attorney experienced in being there for his clients to assist and counsel them at their time of need.  Our firm is committed to discovering the full nature and extent of your injuries to maximize its value and support our clients in these difficult times for the client. This discovery occurs when the client and Mr. Mazzela meet to monitor the clientís medical progress, preparing responses to discovery about the clientís injuries and preparing the client for deposition. It is during these meetings that Mr. Mazzela is able to get to know the client better and discuss the full nature and extent of the impact on the clientís life and counsel them accordingly in their personal injury case.
